bending objects?

Post by ptack »

If I use the pick tool and pick a selection which I then paste into another image, is there a way to bend the selection? I know I can resize and rotate the selection, but is there a way I can bend the selection in a controlled way? Say I pick an image of a steel beam and then want to bend the beam in varying amounts from slightly to something like 90', is there a way to do this?

Probably not as precisely as you'd like but you can use the warp tools.

The Mesh Warp and Warp Brush offer ways of bending and distorting portions of an image. On YouTube you often see these being used to liposuction fat away but they are useful for other things as well.

You can find them just below the pen tool and just above the art media tools on the toolbar.

Also fro something like a girder Bar tube Etc You can duplicate it and set it along the centre then run the Effects Distortion poler Coordinates tool. This will convert the girder into a circle and you can cut segment off it to paste into the main image to create bends. Very good for tubes Especially with some flanges and bolt heads
