Hello video pro's.
I'm a new user of video studio x3 and used pinnacle before this.
Now i have probably the most stupid question on this board so far, but i'm trying for weeks now. I read several posts her but no answer yet.
Oke here's what i want to do. When i insert a videotrack on the time line i do not want to start it immediatly (at 00.00 sec). But at 02.00 sec.
Example, first i want to show 3 seconds my new made tittle and after the tittle i want to start the video. So the starting point should be some later the 00.00 sec. But i don't know how to do this.
Second question is how can i fade out at the end of this video, whem i try to select the fade to black function in cannot put it on the end of the video.
Great thanks in advance, sorry for my poor language use, i'n a dutch newbie
Regards
Gerry

Re: Why can't i start where i want
Welcome to the forums!
Both your questions have much the same solution. On the VS screen, to the immediate right of the preview screen, there are a number of icons. The fourth one down, with a little flower on it, is the one you need. If you click on it, then you will see a number of different colour thumbnails. Select the colour you like for your opening and drag it to the very beginning of your timeline. Then right click on it to adjust the Duration so that it matches how long your opening title runs for. Then insert a transition (such as a crossfade) between the colour panel and your first video clip.
Similarly, at the end, if you want fade to black, first drag the black colour panel to the very end of your video clips in the timeline. Then insert either a crossfade transition or a fade-to-black transition between the final video clip and the colour panel. And there you have it! Simple when you know how!!
