Hi there....
After 3 months of having no issues editing video shot with me Kodak Zi8 HS camera I am now having major crash issues during the rendering stage.
The complete project I am editing is just over 2 minutes long, At first I thought it was certain segments on the time line that were causing the issue. I deleted these elements and continued editing. I could save as a .vb with no issue but when I opened the file and tried to save as an mpg4 file (like all my previous work) it crashed during the render phase.
The first time it crashed at 35% and the second time at 88%. Obviously it is quite frustrating. I downloaded the patched that were on the Corel site and still had issues.
I tried an additional project and the same thing happened. I loaded 3-4 clips on the time line using a simple fade or dissolve transition and during render it would shut down, saying there is a Windows error, it would try to fix it and ultimately it closed down.
I decided to try to X3 trial and as soon as I put video to the time line I received a dump file error. That was quite discouraging.
Not sure what ideas you may have but I am willing to try to work this out... Thank you!
Kenny

Re: X2 Rendering Crash... just started
Hi,
I looked at the specs of the kodak camera and it says that it films in the following format: video: H.264 (MOV), AAC LC. I recently had the same issuses with my VholdR camera which records with the same specs.
I discovered that a new version of Quicktime (7.6.6) was the issue. When I installed an earlier version (7.6.0) the crashes during rendering where over. Maybe you have the same problem.
It isn't a perfect solution though, because Itunes requires at least Quicktime 7.6.4. I already notified Corel with al the information I have about the problem. Unfortunately they probably don't care that much about their customers, because I didn't receive any reply yet.
I hope this information helps you.
