Workspace not reloading

Post by suzshook »

Whenever I start PSP X3, it starts with the default workspace, even though I have my own tailored workspace, and that workspace was active when I closed X3. It seems I have to reload my tailored workspace each time I start X3. Anyone have this problem? I have the latest update loaded (13.0.0.253). I have never seen this happen before, in any version of PSP. In fact, it did not happen in X3 until I restarted PSP X3 holding down the SHIFT key to try to resolve the freezing problem each time I activated the Text tool. That problem no longer happens (PSP freezing when Text tool activated), but I can't seem to get PSP to start with my workspace. What am I missing here???? Thanks for any help. Suz

Are you still starting PSP while holding down the SHIFT key? If so that's why, it resets everything. If not I'll leave you in the very capable hands of anyone other than myself.

Oh, no - I only did that once, to resolve the Text tool problem. Suz

You have Proberbly tried this But in the relems of "If all else fails Load you workspace and resave it And the real bracker Set the X3 Icon to the Workspace file so that it open that rather then the MSI Or half way to the PSPP X3 .EXE

That won't work, either, Trev - it seems the workspace is a PSP X2 file, so that version of PSP tries to open when I click on my tailored PSP X3 workspace - and then it says it can't load the workspace! Still no joy! Suz

EUREKA!!!! Thanks to a poster in the PSP X2 Corel Newsgroup, I have a solution. Sandy suggested I make sure "Keep Last View" is checked in General Program Preferences...Default Launch Workspace! I did not have this option selected - but once I selected it and shut down and restarted PSP, things behaved as they should.

I have to add here that I have use script to set all my preferences again whenever I have to restart with the SHIFT key depressed, like I did in this case. Though I had set the "Keep Last View" preference earlier when I first installed PSP X3, I did not have that parameter in my script. So now I've added it, and the next time I have to clear all my PSP settings to solve a "crisis", my SetPreferences script will also include setting this parameter to "Keep Last View". Now I'm a happy camper! Thank you, SandyJ!!!! Suz
