Update for Torsten H on stubborn DVD Shrink problem

Post by tonyjer »

Hi Torsten

Thanks for your interest in my recent post. The answers to your questions are as follows:

1.Version of DVD Shrink currently being used is 3.2.0.15
2. Tried the "Open disk image option but when you try to open the ISO file you get the following message:

Shrink has encountered an error and cannot continue-Failed to open the file DVD.ISO etc
3. The original size of the ISO file is 4GB(strange cos the 2 individual mpeg files were 2.7 and 2.34 Gb respectively)

4. Have I tried the customise disk size to 4000mb-No (Perhaps you can explain this)

Once again thanks for your interest and expertise. I really would like to use/try ISO files and with your help I will.

Thanks

Setting the disk size to 4000MB is only relevant for creating an output file that works within the FAT32 filesize liminations.

Since the problem appears to be with the ISO file you are trying to open, we need to find out why you have a seemingly corrupt ISO file. If you create a VIDEO_TS folder structure instead, UVS should create multiple .VOB files of up to 1GB, which doesn't pose a problem for FAT32.

If that doesn't work for you, you may wind up having to upgrade your operating system so you can use NTFS, or you'll have to lower the bitrate so that the project doesn't exceed 4GB in size.
