Videostudio X3 Pro Manual

Post by vhalen »

Hi everybody,

I need some support about create videos and how codecs works.
Is there some online manual that can answer my questions?

My main question is about how to play videos on Playstation 3 or Blu-ray players.
I created a full hd video using Blu-Ray Option on Share Tab BUT my video don't play on PS3.
I don't understand anything about codecs to solution my problem...

What the difference about some video files created using Blu-ray option versus AVCHD option?
Anyone can help me with this problem?

Thanks a lot.

It is also not clear that you are actually burning a Blu-Ray disk... Can you confirm that you are.

As for me, I have a PS3 and have no trouble playing back all my high def video edited and authored in X2 and now X3, and that's regardless of whether they are AVCHD or HDV. I don't have a Blu-Ray burner, however, so can't say anything about BD disks burned with VS. But I have made Blu-Ray folders using DVD Factory 2010 which came with X3, as well as AVCHD hybrid discs on SD DVDs using both X2 and X3, and the PS3 plays all of these -- with the BD folder and the native AVCHD and HDV files playing perfectly when either on a USB thumb drive or external HDD or over my home network from my computer. (I use either Nero Media Home, WMP or, preferably, the special PS3 server as the media server... The PS3 one is IMHO the most user-friendly...)

Thanks for your answers...

mitchell65, I don't have blu-ray burner. I only created a video file (film_home.mpeg) using Blu-ray option on share tab.

My video file has film_home.mpeg name with 5,2Gb then I can't put this on pendrive to play on Playstation 3.
Playstation 3 don't read NTFS file system and FAT32 don't accept files bigger than 2Gb.
I only want to play this file (directly) created by Videostudio without to create blu-ray disc or something like this.

All files that I created on Videostudio has MPEG extension.
I don't know anything about difference with AVCHD or Blu-ray option. Both options created files with same name.
If someone got this file, he'll never know what kind of codec was used.

Thanks
Ronaldo
