VS Pro X3 Patch---need URL....
Anybody have the URL for this new patch? My work firewall is not letting me through to get it via "check for updates" and the normal patch and update page on the Corel web site doesn't list it.

Re: VS Pro X3 Patch---need URL....
When I go to the upper right corner of the screen and click on the little circle thingy next to minimize....
One of the options is "check for updates"....
when I click on that----it says there is a new patch available to improve performance of X3 Pro....
I click on the "Get Patch" and the process starts----but then my work Firewall kicks in and prevents the download.
I am using Windows 7 .

Can't you just make an exception for VS in your Firewall? That's what I did with my Nortons 360 to get both that patch and MF 7 SE in the Get More section...

Since it is his workplace he may not have the authority to do that, but surely someone does.

Re: VS Pro X3 Patch---need URL....
Trying to get my network guys to open the firewall for whatever reason is....
Well----let's just say it's kinda hard to do and leave it at that.
The good news is that if i can't find the stand alone patch somewhere----I can bring the machine home and let it get to the patch through my home internet.
It's a laptop....
Incidentally----I am lliking VS X3 Pro a lot..... My rendering times on my game films seem so much faster-----and the quality seems excellent---even at lower bit rates....
I really hardly ever do DVD's anymore so that aspect hasn't affected me much at all.....

Then I will have even more time to devote to video editing ... and this Board!

In actual fact, I have been on a full time contract with the International Commission on Nuclear Non-Proliferation and Disarmament since August 2008 (though didn't go to the Obama nuke-fest in Washington today). But my contract ends on 30 June this year, after which I will indeed become a full-time retiree at long last. (I sort of retired from Foreign Affairs in January 2000, but have been working most of the time since then...) But I hope to start my new life as a retiree in a new country too (New Zealand) when I move there in late July...Spoken like a retiree!

I rather doubt it -- though a friend of mine who lives in the same town has a small sound-proof studio in her five car garage! Probably where the sixth car would have fit!!

Ken,
I'm sorry, but I have to point out that, given your obvious intelligence (not to mention overall helpfulness), your retirement plans are about to prove (by action in reverse) the probably apochryphal Robert Muldoon quote: "People who emigrate from New Zealand to Australia raise the average IQ of both countries."
In any case, good luck mate! And thanks for all the past and future help.
