BSOD

Post by bowsersmom »

I have Dell Dimension with XP Pro 32 bit, SP2, using Paint Shop Pro X , updated to 10.03, lately while using it
or upon exit, I Am getting the BSOD IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
***STOP: 0x0000000A error and of course it crashes the system...We have used this program to mainly edit photos for
a school year book and do not download the photos into Corel, instead we work out of a local folder..any ideas ? doesn't seem to crash for any other program .....would be glad to answer any questions not posted...

TIA !

Sounds like a hardware error.
CPU, memory ...
Is your PC in a hot room?
Overclocked?
The Windows event log may give the offending module.

It would be good to get some more information about the error particularly the "faulting module". http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic40108.html gives a good example of what extra information would be handy, and how to get the information from the Windows Error Viewer.

Without knowing more about the error, my first suggestion would be to start PSP X while holding down the Shift key, which will reset the whole program to its default settings. (A saved workspace will be useful afterwards if you've done a lot of customising).
