What I am getting at is we need to narrow this down to see if it is a software or hardware issue.
1. Is it a fault with WinDVD
or
2. Is it a fault with the Blue Ray Player
yes it did and i just installed it all is working ok but its rather outdated and power dvd sucks is why i changed to windvd. so there you have it nothing wrong with my drive now i uninstall this crap power dvd as i hate it. now i have to go threw removing its leftover crap again. but oh well see its not my drive its something with windvd.

When you re-installed did you get this screen?

:( i did contact them they had me manually remove windvd but nothing worked no i never ever seen that screen :( why what is wrong how do i get it to do that. they gave me this ftp://cfs.corel.com told me to d-load the windvd pro 2010 but that stupid zip file thing dosent work i cant get the installer to work. so i had to do it again from one i d-loaded. ever dam time i tried to use that stupid file the installer never launched. i called corel support back again they said it has to work i said no it dosent work. but not sure whats up i never got that screen ever. here is the steps they gave me to manually remove windvd. see the ones in blue and bolded i did not have those at all in my reg not sure why?. could that be a problem?

# Delete the following folders/directories:

* For Windows 32-bit: C:\Program Files\Corel\CorelWinDVD2010
* For Windows 64-bit: C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\CorelWinDVD2010

# Go to Start >> Run and then type: regedit
# Hit the enter key to launch the Regedit utility.
# In the Regedit window, make sure that the following entries are removed:

* My Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Corel\DVD10
* My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Corel\DVD10
* My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\SOFTWARE\Corel\DVD10
* My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\SOFTWARE\Corel\PCU\

* My Computer\HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\5C1F18D2-F6B7-4242-B803-B5A78648185B

omg I'M ECSTATIC something amazing happen i thought i would try it again this time i did a regular uninstall i again took the zip file they sent me to get. i put it on my jump drive instead of my regular drive. thought what the heck i would try it. and guess what it work omg it worked. here is what happend i got the stupid did this program install correctly thing the typical windows 7 UAC ***. well this time i did not answer it i canceled that and guess what the install thing came up. i installed it. and omg now i can change regions yes it worked. yuppie i hope it stays working that it all installed ok. i got all the updates from the ground up all went on ok. thanks all for the help if i have any further problems i will report here.
