first thing i tried thanks for trying though i appreciate it. but it did not work i'm not sure what is wrong or how to fix it as i never selected a region never asked me to. Don't you find it wired that it says i have zero tried left to change it but the actual drive still tells me i have 5 left is very strange i have never messed with regions and when i have to it will not let me do it. any other ideas sir?.

I know this might sound daft but..... you do have a BD Disc Drive Installed in your computer don't you?
an ordinary DVD player will not work.

Did your Blue Ray player come with any software for playing Blue Ray Movies?
If not do a Google Search to see if there is any free or trial software.

Then see if it will work with alternative software.
What I am getting at is we need to narrow this down to see if it is a software or hardware issue.
1. Is it a fault with WinDVD
or
2. Is it a fault with the Blue Ray Player

I just did a quick Google search usinmg "ggc-h20l region code problems" as the search parameter, and it seems there are a million people out there with this particular drive having the same problem, and not just with WinDVD... One possible solution is contained in this thread: http://club.myce.com/f142/regional-code ... 0l-268504/

It was also rather instructional to do a Google search for just "ggc-h20l problems". You get a wide variety of other problems reported as well. Sounds like a lemon to me!

Ok so that particular thread was not your specific drive. But there are many other posts addressing the same issue with your specific drive when you do that Google search. And indeed the solution still seems to be the same: see http://club.myce.com/f142/lg-ggc-h20l-l ... on-300581/

that is not the same thing i can change region codes with my bd player with windows just fine that is why LG says it is not my drive it is the software. how do i fix this when the software has locked me out but i can change it with windows itself but windows dose not handel blue ray software dose. this is why LG says it is the software and not the drive thus why i came here.
