I am trying to convert an NTSC format DVD derived MPG to PAL.
The original format is NTSC (29.970fps, LPCM).
I imported the NTSC, went to Share -> Create Video File -> Custom, stuffed around a bit, and got PAL DVD, at 25FPS and Dolby audio.
The export seemed to work (but took about 1.5-2 times the original file).
The video seems to work fine. The audio, however, by the end of the video is a good 30 seconds behind the video (if not more).
I checked the NTSC and PAL MPGs with AVIcodec, and the numbers appear correct (total frames @ 29.97 vs 25), and LPCM to Dolby.
I am aware of the PAL 4% speedup -- is this the problem?
Is LPCM supported in a generic PAL DVD?
Any suggestions about what to do?
Cheers,
Damon

One thing you could check is the field order. The software may have gone to a default field order different to the one you originally had placing a pretty big strain on the whole process. My cam is a DVD Cam and records upper field first which generally is the opposite of most DV cams. I have to burn my projects in both PAL and NTSC for everyone and have no problems BUT I always maintain the upper field first setting regardless of PAL or NTSC.
The conversion of NTSC to PAL, LCPM to Dolby and then swapping the field order may be proving a little too much!
