I have been successfully using X2 for about 5 months before upgrading to X3 (primarily for increased rendering speed).
After experimenting with X3 for several weeks, here is a summary of what I see, and I am trying to figure out is it me or X3 which is causing these issues
GOOD:
1. Rendering time improvements – kudos!
2. Additional audio filters – great for cleaning up old video tapes
BAD:
1. Not sure how to make some preferences “sticky”, but this could be my lack of miles on X3, however see below
2. Not sure how to make a video clip without a header menu and the attached music – the music is totally inappropriate for a professional presentation (small business) – again, I may just need to experiment a lot more which leads to…
UGLY:
1. No documentation shipped with the download
2. Web documentation does not work – it is like the X3 graphic has no link associated with it
3. DVD factory is dysfunctional on multiple levels – after spending 4 hours playing with that s/w, I have found that it is best to use X3 to render and use X2 to make DVD media
I am running Vista ultimate with direct x 10 on 3+GB of memory, but some of the issues above should be independent of that.
If I am missing the boat in obvious ways, please let me know!

Re: X3 issues
You are right. DVD Factory is bad. You can use your work around. Corel has also heard our displeasure and has made available DVD Movie Factory 7 as an update. It should be available thru the Do More/Get More button in VS. You will find this is very similar to the burning module in X2.

Re: X3 issues
Hi Jeff,
Is this DVD Movie Factory 7 an item I have to pay for or is it a freebe to make up for DVD Factory deficiencies?
Thanks,
George

Re: X3 issues
DVD Movie Factory 7 SE, which is the trimmed down version of the full blown version released in Australia last year. The SE version is provided to purchased and registered holders of VS Pro X3. Look in the Corel Guide/Do More section for the link to download it. It is free. If you happen to have the full version of DVD Movie Factory 7 installed on your PC, then the link to download the SE version will not present itself.
