I shoot everything in the 2:3 ratio. Ritz has a 6 cent special but the photo size it 3 1/2 x 5" My 2:3 ratio pic would get cropped.
I'd like to batch process 200 images, resize my 2:3 ratio into 3 1/2 x 5, keep aspect ratio, and use a white border to make it work. Prefer the border to be on all 4 sides also.
I could do this manually but dont have a clue how to do it automated.
Batch convert 2:3 ratio to 3:4

Record a script.
If all of your images are the same size and end up the same size a recorded script should be perfect.
First open up an initial image, make sure you have the process down for the resizing so that you don't have any extra steps in there.
Next you need the script toolbar to be open. Go to View->Toolbars->Script

With this open hit the Red Circle record button. This will start recording your actions. Now perform any edits you need to to add the white border and change your image to a 3 1/2 x 5 image.
When you're done hit the Save button on the script toolbar and it'll ask you for a name for the script.

You can then open up the batch process dialog. File->BatchProcess...
In this dialog you can grab all of the images you want to process, the file format you want them saved as. And the script you want to use on each image.

Just turn on script usage and select the script you want to use, which is the script you created. And if all goes well they will all have that white border applied to them.

Are you just asking where to find the resize canvas command? It's Image > Canvas Size. If you're saying that that doesn't work then we have a problem.swtrans wrote:Thanks. I'm aware of how to record a script. I can't figure out what to record. I've just figured it out in Photoshop using canvass resize. That method will not work in Paint Shop.

Wasn't trying to insult you by telling you how to record a script. I find it easier to not leave it up to chance. If you didn't know then the information would be nice to have.
Glad you got it done in Photoshop but....you confuse me.
Paint shop Pro does not take canvas from the bottom and put it on the top using canvas size.
Canvas size increases/decreases the overall size of the canvas depending on the settings you give it.
Add Borders will add the necessary boarder size around the image that you set.
It's found in the Image menu just like Canvas Size.
After using Add Borders my image size increased so nothing was removed or moved. Only stuff added.
