If you have a look at my testing in messages above you will notice there are or should be visable 8 processes whereas yours has only 4.

Your image asls state 4 Cores - 4 Threads

Where I appear to have 4 Cores but 8 Threads :-)

Searching Corel Support I've found the following:

"Choosing an optimum setup for HD Video-Editing in VideoStudio"

"For 64-bit operating systems it may be worth adding more RAM for Windows to use, as they can make use of up to 8Gb of RAM. VideoStudio Pro X2, however, can only use 2Gb of RAM no matter which Operating System you use."

Does X3 use the x64 advantages like using RAM above the 2GB restriction, as stated above?
Could anybody find an advantage of VideoStudio X3 running on a x64 Windows with 8GB RAM compared to x32 with 4GB?

My experience with 64 bit Vista shows that with 64 bit codecs all 8GB I have installed is used by running Pro X2, mostly as disk cache. Take a look at some of the results I've posted in this thread. I haven't run a benchmark with 32 bit vs 64 bit Vista though...

I did some tests using a source file from my Canon HF100 HD camera (MTS 1440x1080) of about 80MB, rendering the clip
Scubamut,I found your 1m14sec encoding PDF report link very useful. We share the same Hf100 camera and my processor is only a bit slower. It's no surprise that I ended up with similar rendering times. I assumed that smart rendering was applied.
My question is: Have you tried to encode same duration but with 2 or 3 transitions, effect or title included?
I'm curious about encoding durations relative to the real time then. More importantly will encoded video be free of defects like skipped frames or freezing playback? 1min and 14sec may be a bit short for this test. Also complexity of your raw footage and effects will play a major role.

Hi,

Run further testing on my system generating video file MPG.

Timeline has an imported MPG file captured from TV card 1.39gb

Cut to 10 mins on timeline

I generate an MPG file DVD 16.9

CPU Usage does not go over 40%
Memory usage does not go over 2.9gb
