PSP shuts down

Simone Corel UK wrote:Hi to you

My name is Simone and I work for the Corel UK Support.
About 3 weeks ago, I asked members in this forum, who had problems working in PSP X3, to contact me in order to sort out a problem in particular. You will find a descriptions here: http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?t=37143 . Tim Morrison wrote in answer to "bulajap" who had opened the request, "This only happens to some people, but as far as I know, no on has yet worked out why it happens on some machines but not others."

Let me explain:

If you get a request like: I had no problem installing PSPX3, but when I want to edit a picture and I click on Adjust -> Brightness or Automatic Photo Correction or Fade Correction or another thing what you can do in Adjust, then PSP shuts down.

The reason for this is that they are normally XP Home (most of them) or Vista/Windows 7 Home user with limited administrator access and they get an error 1706 while installing.

Please send them to our support so that we can provide them with instructions how to remove the PSP and what to do in order to install software as administrator. Only using that removing tool which you can find on the Corel knowledge base doesn't work. They have to remove keys in the registry and folders on C:\ and Installer files in C:\Program files\Installshield Installation Information.

After testing on different machines, I can confirm that there is no incompatibility to XP Home. Even as a normal Home user, I didn't get that installer problem.
All customers who got my instructions for removing the software were able to re-install successfully.

Thank you for listening to my explanation
Simone
