Convert back to VHS?

I need to convert a DVD back to VHS for someone that does not have DVD player. How is this done? I have failed with what seems to be the obvious methodes. Help!!

What "obvious methods" have you tried? Possibly the least painful one is to record the output of a standalone DVD player using a VCR...

I tried that but only got fuzz. I am going to try one more thing yet........

Did you select the correct input source on the VCR? From your description, it seems that the VCR was recording from a tuner without a signal, i.e. you got static. If you are recording from a DVD player through a composite or S-Video cable, and even if you aren't playing the DVD, you should get a snow-free picture.
