VideoStudio X3 - How to uninstall?

Post by AlexKrycek »

Hi

I am having some problems with VideoStudio X3 - so I am wanting to totally remove the program and start again

Corel sent me the following in response to my query -

"I suggest to troubleshoot this issue by removing and reinstalling the software. This is to make sure that there are no corrupt files in your program files. To remove, you may use the Cleanup Utility that you can download from the following link.

ftp://ULCNDYQC:I8VA6T2S@private.ulead.c ... ver1.8.zip

Please visit the following Knowledgebase article for the instructions in removing VideoStudio Pro X3 in Windows 7:

http://corel.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/corel ... qid=764375

Once your Corel VideoStudio Pro X3 is removed, restart your computer and reinstall the product.

However, the second link for removing VideoStudio X3 in Windows 7 does not work.

Does anyone else have this link that might work?

Thanks Steve

I had seen this thread and I had used the utility. I wanted to also remove the registry entries for a "clean" uninstall.

I think I have now uninstalled VSX3. I was looking at the response from Corel indicating their was a answer on the knowledgebase....but there isn't!

Having reinstalled I still have the problems! Nightmare. The program keeps hanging - despite me updating my graphics card driver, Direct9X etc. VS9 was a fantastic product...I never anticipated so many problems upgrading.

Might be bad move but I have just ordered VSX2 - I am hoping this will be better!

X3 Slow Sllllllllllloooooooooooooooow!

Post by JackTheBear »

Purchased X3 when it first came out - Tried to use it the last few days. I was so slow and or unresponsive, I uninstalled and reinstalled AND did the update - You would think I have a 386 computer. Glad it wasn't too expensive - Don't know what to do except got back to Vs12. A shame, it looks nice, but doesn't work. I thought I had a hot computer - it is no match for X3. Perhaps I have some Windows Xp 64 bit setting wrong or maybe it doesn't work on Windows 64 ? :(

There's a number of 64 bit users here who have no complained. I have a Quad 6600 and X3 is fast enough on that... though I have complained from the start about how slow the burning module add-on is. But that's separate from the main X3.

It is really wild - If I bring up control panel or the task manager - when I close them - they stay frozen on the screen for what seems like more than a minute. I can't say I ever got any of the Video Studio Programs to really run 100% - But this one, for all practical purposes, on MY machine, does not run. X2 is still good, however - Go figure - Maybe it is a setting or something - I checked the system requirements and I am way past the basics - Maybe I should re install the operating system - who knows? Good to hear from you again - sorry for the bad report

x3 no workie

Post by JackTheBear »

Just rebooted - loaded x3 and then brought up the control panel and then tried to shut control panel down - all functions were frozen - on control panel AND x3. After a minute, or so, control panel shut down. Just seems like the program is running slow - really slow.
Shut X3 down and loaded Corel x2 (12) brought up control panel - shut it down - worked fine - Also had the task manager up and X3 wasn't using any memory, but X2 was actively using 43% 0 50% etc. memory. Any suggestions?

I have X3 running on a P4 and it seems fine. Can't imagine why your X2 runs ok but X3 does not.
