I have always loaded video to timeline and then used multitrim to cut it up. But in the past I have done each clip separtely. The first song was done and trimmed and then exit multitrim and then share and save as separate file. Then load main film back to time line do second song and exit multi and share and save.
I think there must be a way to cut it into 8 clips with one opening of multitrim but then how do you get each separate clip? Once you exit multi the time line looks the same and if I go to share and save it never asks for 8 different file names.
Also, would I not be better off to cut it up with the scissors in the time line? Then how would I save each clip to library and would it really save a separate clip or just a thumbnail. I like the idea of having each clip as a separate file that I can back up somewhere.
I got my 9 gig Hd clip in the time line and multitrim opened which takes about 30 minutes on this computer, I would like to make all the cuts at once. Doug

Well, if you want to split your video into real and separate files during the capture process, don't use Video Studio to capture. I also love having a lot of smaller, real, separate files to work with. So I use a small freeware program called HDVSplit for capture. It splits the incoming video by scene and creates a separate file for each scene.
I don't have a URL for it, but a simple Google search will find it.
