I must have lucked out when I upgraded from X2 to X3 Ultimate, for I got the KPT filters as part of the purchase (along with Painter Essentials, which I LOVE, and I think one other plugin, which I can't remember right now and can't check since I'm at work). I've been using KPT off-and-on without any issues.
My purchase was made a couple of months ago.

Re: KPT filters in X3
Quaker1955 did you buy X3 Ultimate or the regular X3?
The original version of X3 came with the ability to download the KPT Filters (well, five of them at least) but only after a certain amount of time. When originally released the KPT Filters were not yet available for download in X3. If you have the original version you need to pay attention to the "Do More..." option in the "Effects" menu. As soon as that becomes active it should open up the Corel Guide with links to the KPT filters and some time-saving scripts.
Those who bought X3 Ultimate will either get them as a download direct from Corel or on their disc. If you can't find the links to these extras contact Corel directly and they should be able to provide you with the links you need.

Re: KPT filters in X3 [Resolved]
I have the KPT plugins (free) installed and listed but I am not able to select any. They are grayed out.
I am in Win XP SP3. Where if needed might these be registered to enable them?
Edit:
I had 16 bit tifs loaded. 8 bit tifs work fine recalling that these are 8 bit plugins which will not work with 16 bit RGB clor resolution images.
