KPT filters in X3

Post by aafuss »

Has anyone tried the selection of KPT filters that comes with Paint Shop Pro X3?

Do the KPT filters in X3 have any changes compared to ones that were included in the Corel KPT Collection from 2003?

My X3 disc from Corel had no KPT filters on it. I already had KPT 4 & 5 installed, and they run OK on PaintShop Photo Pro Xe.

My opinion for what its worth is Corel will never bother to make them available.
They would have given them away with the purchased download or disk or at least a link The fact its now 5 months in and they have not bothered means the hope folks did not notice.

It may not be on the ads anymore but it's still on the what's new tab at the bottom of the page.

I haven't ever used any KPT filters so I honestly don't know what I'm missing.

When I purchased Paintshop the other day, it came with a free download of KPT filters.
I downloaded them and installed them. So where do I see them in the Paintshop program?

Are they just added in to image effects ? Or do I find them elsewhere within Paintshop.
Kinda confused, super new to Paintshop.

In the Full Editor with the image open click Effects > Plugins > KPT Collection.
Effects> Plugins> will also be where you'll find any other third party plugins you install should you install any.

I did not receive KPT Bonus Filters when I downloaded Paint Shop Pro x3. I can not find any where to download them from Corel. Have they made them available for download to registered users? If so, where?

Thanks for any help.

Corel Customer Support sent me a link to download the KPT filters and everything is working fine. Here is the email Corel sent to me with the link for anyone who needs it. I already had PaintShop installed so I just downloaded the file and ran it and the KPT filters install with no problem.

Thank you for contacting Corel Customer Support.

Please click on the link below to download the KPT Plug ins:
http://www.corel.com/akdlm/6763/downloa ... KPT_01.exe

Kindly follow the instructions below on how to install KPT Plug in Filters:

1. Install PaintShop Photo Pro X3 and install KPT filter from Do More tab. (Please note you have to close PaintShop Photo Pro X3 before you continually to install KPT filter) Do More can be found under Help, Corel Guide . If the option Do More does not exist, you may have already downloaded the filters, continue with step 2.

You can also check under Help, Check for Updates to ensure all updates have been downloaded and installed.

2. Re-launch PaintShop Photo Pro X3 and go to File > Preferences > File Locations and select Plug-in in the left column.

3. Press Add button (on right side) and select KPT plug-in folder from C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel PaintShop Photo Pro\X3\PSPClassic\Languages\EN*\PlunIns\KPT. (The language folder is matched with your OS language.)
