New authoring module for X3

I don't know but I suspect so. I am hampered by the fact that I installed VS X3 6 days ago and got nothing until I just changed the firewall setting, and then suddenly it was there. But I don't know if it would have been there on the first day if the Firewall had allowed access.

what I've done, not sure which point helps me

1) Added X3 to exceptions to Windows Firewall: no luck
2) Disabled ADSL Router Firewall (so I was behind 2 firewalls actually ) - no luck
3) Re-read the thread, noticed that availability of MF7SE is subject to already installed MF7SE. Remembered that I've an old MF in MediaStudio 8 (not use it anymore due X3). Un-installed MSP 8. No luck
4) Started un-installation of X3 (before reading post from Ken)
4) Decided to review manual un-installation instructions for MF7 version (not sure why I decided so, just in case) and performed it on my computer
5) Un-installation of X3 was completed, I've used the search function of the forum and performed manual clean-up of X3
6) Changed clock of my computer to 1.5 week ago
7) Installed X3 FULL version
Make sure that my firewall is still allowing X3 to access Internet
9) Crossed the fingers and started X3 and close it. It immediately finds a patch. Installed it and start X3 using crossed fingers again - no luck in terms of MF7SE. Closed X3
10) Changed clock on computer to 1 week ago (3 days rule). Cross-fingered X3 - no luck
11) Changed clock to current date. Cross-fingered X3 twice. On second attempt the software decided that I'm allowed to be lucky and showed me magic Do More tab with a lot of stuff incl. MF7SE

I think, that my problems were:
-- Windows Firewall
-- ADSL router firewall
-- Presence of MF version on my computer

I think that it was not required for me to re-install X3

Not sure that something great happened in my life, but definitely I'll have sweet dreams right now. The most wanted update software is found

I have had X3 installed since it was first announced. My Get More's filled up pretty fast and downloaded just fine. However, I still see nothing about this update... Al

In my case I had no DVDMF installed.
I just asked Corel support, asking if they can send me a link for the new authoring tool for VS X3 (adding my purchase order number) and after 1 day I got the link, downloaded, installed.
Everything is ok.
I would suggest to get rid of the Get More check&pray "solution" (let's call it like this...) and simply ask Corel support.
If it worked with me, I don't see why should not work with other people

Finally figured out how to do it.

First I removed VS form my system, then downloaded and reinstalled it using the link from my e-mail confirmation when I bought the program. Then I opened it and downloaded the patch (no get more or do more links). After that I changed the system date to 1 week from now and rebooted. Still nothing. I added a further week to the system date and repeated and this time the get more and do more links popped up.

So, now I have everything downloaded. Moviefactory looks like the VS12 software, basically.

Now I have a new question - where did all the templates downloaded in from the get more tab go? Because there do not appear to be any new templates in the program as far as I can see.

The link is under the tab "Do More" NOT "Get More". After you select do more, select the try tab, and scroll right till you see the program then download. This infor, my success at getting the update are do to the rapid reponse of Jan from Corel. Thanks again Corel.

I can log into Corel Australia but as soon as I go to support and send message seem to get no options...

I think that is there plan

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the suggestions you all made.
I installed VSx3pro on my system on 16 februari. The 3 days rule was long ago expired.
But setting the system date to 10 april 2010 did the trick for me too. After rebooting, I saw MF7se for videostudio appearing in the DoMore tab together with a lot of DoMore items .
MF7SE for Videostudio did not integrated in StudioX3 but has to be run as standalone.

To be able to run it, StudioX3 has first to be closed.

I did not have to first uninstall my (bought en registered) VSX3pro.

I couldn't trace the path of the downloaded MF7se installer and could not therefore make any backup of it .

Are the revostock templates we all bought from Corel when buying VSX3pro included in MF7se? I could not find them.

My feeling: MF7 is an improvement regarding DVDFactory 2010, but all this is not user-friendly, at least.

Did what Teleoma said without uninstalling or reinstalling VideoStudio. Even set it to April 10 and restarted puter. Nothing happened. Reverted back to todays date checked the do more file and there it was along with some smartsound stuff whose link does not work. It is now downloading. I use 3 different editing softwares and this has left a really bad taste in my mouth for Corel, not the program itself which I have used and been happy with for several years but will have to think long and hard on the next upgrade.

Still no luck-tried adding VS X3 to Window's firewall excpetions list and set the clock forward one week and there's still no do more or get more tabs.
