That isn't the MF7 link though, that is a patch for VS. Customer service doesn't know what you are talking about, which isn't a good sign.

This whole "get more" thing is a joke. If there is stuff to download, then just provide it to us

Server issue

Post by JP3D »

Unfortunately we had a server issue over the weekend and the automated "Do More" tab was not updated. The techs fixed the issue last night. It should show up now.

I must say that things would be a lot simpler. The "Get More" could have a link to a page on the Corel Website which simply lists all available updates.
Like I mentioned earlier in this thread, any stuff available for download is useless to anyone who does not have the program (VSX3) installed and so this should not introduce any piracy issues.

The email I got from Corel follows; (I have deleted the actual link as it was deleted from my previous post. I have no confidentiality agreement with Corel so consider that anything they send me is in the Public Domain.) I have downloaded and installed the new software. Initially I think I am just as well off with VS x2. The DF7SE is not available from within VS x3 You have to shut down X3 and start up DF7SEnasnastand alone program then import your compliant file. Same as using X2. Incidently you can install DF7 SE to a PC that does not have a full copy of VS x3 installed. I had a TBYB copy of x3 that has long since expired on another machine and DF7 SE installed and worked normally. I have since uninstalled the X3 copy and DF7 still works OK.

Would it be fine if I ask Corel customer service for a link to DVD MovieFactory 7 SE for VideoStudio Pro X3?

Well that kind of puts the block on providing a separate download link then.

Have you got the full version of VS or the TBYB version. If TBYB then patches are not available for that.[/quote]

I am so confused. TBYB versions do not get updates? Check out the response I got for the "Get More" not showing!

Thank you for contacting Corel Customer Support Services.

Corel has recently released an update for adding the 'Get more' function in VideoStudio Pro X3. If your computer is connected to the internet, your program should automatically get this from our system. Kindly check your program again for this function by selecting the 'Help and Product information' button that is located in upper right-hand corner of the program window on the left side of minimize button. And if not, please send us a screen shot of your program's Corel Guide' window so we could report this to our engineers.

If not, please remove the currently installed VideoStudio Pro X3 in your system then reinstall using the TBYB installer that you can download from the following link:

http://www.corel.com/akdlm/6763/downloa ... o_TBYB.exe

You can use your serial number to activate this program.

I suggest using the tool that you can download from the following link for removing your program.

http://www.revouninstaller.com/

Also, please delete the 'Corel VideoStudio Pro X3' folder in 'C:\Program Files\Corel\' directory after uninstalling the program.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Regards,

Nelson

No, you generally cannot update TBYB versions. What customer support is telling you is to remove the version of X3 that you currently have installed, download a TBYB version, then activate if using the serial number you already have. Then, after it is activated (no longer a TBYB version), you can apply the update.

I did what they said. Still no "Get More". I assume since I just reinstalled, that I have to wait another 3 days, if it works at all. I think I will just bring back in my backup. I have been with VideoStudio since version 5. It used to be quality software. I think it is going down hill. Really miss ulead. I may need to reserarch alternatives.

The link provided to me, would not let me activate. The help says to activate, enter the program then exit and and use the Already purchased button. Never happened, the program would just exit. I gave up bringing in backup.

In my case they did.
Just received the link to MF7 SE, downloaded, and installed.
Everything is ok.

For my case, thumbs up for the prompt reply to my request.

The addition of MF7SE is a very welcome move by Corel and should put VSX3 up amongst the elite video editing programs.
There are a few teething problems getting MF7SE out to those who require it as we have noticed from some of the above pots.

Please be assured that Corel are aware and are monitoring this thread.

The link is under the tab "Do More" NOT "Get More". After you select do more, select the try tab, and scroll right till you see the program then download. This infor, my success at getting the update are do to the rapid reponse of Jan from Corel. Thanks again Corel.

Well, I'm not getting the "get more" tab, nor the "do more" tab, I'm getting squat. This method of updating software is beyond stupid and Corel needs to either patch it to work properly or at least provide the traditional method of patching as an alternative. How are supposed to figure out what you need or how to get it when a bunch of random cr*p is going on with the software? I realize that that the person who came up this thought that it was a good way of getting the less sophisticated users to update their software, but those less sophisticated users are going to be totally confused by all this nonsense.
