Yes it can be. First have you installed SP1 for VS X3? Here is a link to the explanation of this service pack.. http://apps.corel.com/patches/vsx3/sp1/ ... es_en.html, and the link to the Patches for VS X3.. http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/ ... 0460544373

Do you have VS X3 installed on a computer that is connected to the internet? Even if you don't use that computer for your editing purposes, it will provide a way to get these updates, and various additional "goodies". You could copy the various downloads from the internet connected PC, to your editing machine. In Vista look under C:\ProgramData\Corel\Downloads. There could be several folders which you will need to explore. The download file for DVD MF7 SE is located on my PC under: C:\ProgramData\Corel\Downloads\540228697_517034\1268153541522, and is called DMF7SEforVSX3.exe. You will also need to copy the xml file in that folder.

There may also be a post containing a link to download that file, so far I haven't been able to locate it..

Hi,
I am getting more and more confused by the use of the 'SP' terminology for the updates and patches for both VS Pro X2 and X3. Corels website does not use these references, so for me it is difficult to understand what SP references the available updates have, since also the sequence of installing them is of importance. I have VS X2 installed on my current XP machine, but are getting a new Windows 7 computer in a few days and would like to install both programs correctly.
I would appreciate an explanation if someone has a clear understanding of this matter.
I hope that I put this message in the right place, but could not find a more appropriate one.
Thanks, Henny

Sorry Henry, what we use what I thought were common abbreviations. SP=Service Packs, which some also call patches or fixes. Just hang around for awhile and you'll pick up on the lingo. (VS, DVDMF, PSPP, C3DPS,) and so on.

Corel also removed SP-2 (Service Pack 2), from it's download, even though the page or link still claims it to be for SP-2. Once you get the prompt to download the file, you can see that in reality is SP-3. They incorporated the fixes, features, enhancements, etc., from SP-2 into SP-3. This is a very common practice. It removes the need for us to download so many different ones.

I know with PSPP X3, there are some bugs with SP-3, that caused more problems than good. So people had to reinstall the program, then install SP-1, and SP-2, to get the program back to working properly.

Thank you Ron, but what I ment was that I miss the references between the indicated updates/patches on Corels website and the SP number, both for VS Pro X2 and X3. They use names for these patches like 'improvement of smart sound' etc. But is that SP1, 2 or 3?
I hope I make myself clear. I would like to know if their update page is up to date and if so, in which sequence do I have to install these patches.

Thanks Ron. Sorry for delay... been traveling. I wish I could do all you say, but I do not have any computer... none at all, hooked up to internet. For now I must make DVD of my project using my Pro X2, which seems to work fine... but very inconvient. It seems I'll have to wait for the next revision of VS Pro, hopefully this spring. That people like me must do this after paying the full price for VS Pro X3 is sad, coming from a company this big, My regards and Christmas greetings... Mike

I'm using local library's computers for my email and to post and reply on this forum. I use a memory stick in their computer to download fixes for my computer at home, which I did for Pro X3. Regards, Mike

No, it can accept video files, but what it cannot accept are VSP (project) files from Video Studio X3 as its code was written before X3 ever appeared. So the idea is that in X3, you finish your edits, then Share > Create Video File > DVD, and insert that new mpeg-2 file into MF 7 SE.

What format did you use as the input file? When exactly do you get the error message?
