Post by OldRadioGuy »

The just-released patch did not fix the problem with PSPX3 Camera Raw Lab.

It seems to only have fixed a few bugs, but not that one with the raw lab. (I guess you've reported the bug at some stage. That's a great sample image and confirming the bug for Olympus ORFs is good too).
Even without going through the raw lab, all dark raw files are over-brightened in X3. Also in X2 Ultimate and Photo-Paint X4.
Because this happens in HDR Photo Merge, it makes that tool unusable for anything that was shot raw. The images would need to be converted to another format in another program first.

Another couple of bug that haven't been fixed...
Tabbed pallets having their tabs duplicated when returning from Print Layout or the Express Lab.
All images that are opened while X3 is closed are maximised when X3 runs. (Drag and drop onto the X3 shortcut, open from a right click, sent to PSP from an external program, or double clicking on an image set to open with X3).

RAW Lab

Post by davidh202 »

It is definately Lame!

There is a 'upgrade RAW Lab' link in the help menu(grayed out now).
My guess is that the developers needed to get the program released and didn't feel it was urgent enough to adequately get the RAW lab fully functional and may feel that not enough hobbyists shoot RAW.
I wonder if they will really ever make it work properly or they intend to charge for an upgrade ?

I shoot mostly in Raw..... and often use a different program for initial Raw Processing, exactly because of the reason pointed out in the OP.

Wow, that's better than 95% of the software companies I deal with. I'm impressed.
