I have just purchased VidoeStudio X3 and Paintshop Photo 2010 - primarily as I am now on Windows 7. Previous to this I had VidoeStudio 9 and DVD PictureShow 4 - both great products for a novice like me!
I seem to be having problems with the installation and running of VidoeStudio X3 ¡V despite me re installing this three times. I think the Paintshop Photo 2010 has installed correctly inc the patch.
Basically, VideoStudio X3, the program seems to be hanging all too frequently, and I have to close it down as the program is ¡§not responding¡¨ via Windows Task Manager. It doesn¡¦t particularly hang at one place, it¡¦s just when I am trying to work with it. Also, when I launch the DVD Factory Pro from within VideoStudio X3 to create for example a video disc, my music isn¡¦t showing under the music tab ¡V despite it being shown in the left hand column? I am therefore unable to add my music to the production ¡V albeit I can see all my music and add this in the VidoeStudio X 3 music tab suite. The program seems full of bugs?
At this stage I am only using the video frames from within VidoeStudio Pro X3 itself. I have not imported any.
I am not sure if the patches are installing properly. When I have installed the program, there is a notification to say that I need to download a patch to improve stability. It seems to download, but then installs within a second?? I see the windows installer and then it says "Finished". Not sure if tis is right. I know with paintshop Photo 2010 there is a patch to download, and when it installs, windows installer starts and I can see the black background and the patch installing via the green progress bar.
Finally, can someone explain to me what the Title Sequence feature is for within VideoStudio X3? I am pretty new so I'm no expert but I do not see what this does? When I change it, nothing seems to be happening.

Thanks for the information - I am assuming the patch is installing correctly. Not exacatly what I wanted to hear as I though the patch might have resolved the bugs.
Any ideas why the program would be stopping all the time? I have tried several times today to start a project and it seems to be all to frequent. I have not even tried putting any video footage on there.
I am serioulsy considering going back a version to VideoStudio 2 - but am worried this might do the same on Windows 7. Is the program compatable?
Does VideoStudio X3 work alongside VideoStudio X2?

I have both X2 and X3 (and 11.5+) on my Windows 7 computer (see system details) and all work just fine together.
All I can think to suggest is a reinstall of VS...
But have you manually downloaded and installed the latest DirectX update? See the sticky post towards the top of this forum for the link to the most recent version. It is *not* a part of the regular Windows updates and has to be done manually. The latest version makes some small changes in Windows 7 (and a lot more in earlier versions). Recent Windows updates appear to create conflicts for programs such as VS, and the DirectX update corrects quite a few of these.
It would also be useful if you filled in your Profile button with your system details. As it is, we are making suggestions blind as we have no idea of what kind of computer we are dealing with apart from its operating system...
