Hell~o from Iowa
Well.....I hope I'm doing this right. My name is Nancy, I'm a 64 year old retired Registered Nurse, married 46 years to my high school sweetheart, 3 grown children, 8 grandchildren and 3 puppy dogs...Gracie and Sophie are miniature dachshunds and Marlie is a year old harlequin great dane.
To make a long story short.....I know squat about computers...lol...never used one. About 10 years ago my husband came home with this huge present for my birthday with an equally huge smile on his face....I opened it and it was my first computer....my first thought was what the heck am *I* going to do with this??? Well....once we figured out how to get it up and running which was no small challenge for either of us, I started looking around. I found paint shop pro....some classes to learn it...and the rest as they say is history!! I'm hooked on psp.
I forgot to mention....I'm from a small community..Newton, Iowa, USA.
We used to be known as the home of Maytag....now we're becoming known for our new racetrack...just 4 years old and has already attracted the Nascar circuit! Exciting to some...to me a car race is as interesting as watching grass grow but if it attacts other businesses and jobs then I'm all for it.
My favorite year (I think) was 1964...I turned 18 in January of 64, graduated high school in Jan of 64, got married in February of 64, and had my first baby in Dec of 64. Whew!! I was a stay at home mom until my kids got in high school, I then went and took classes at our community college...took the ACT's when I was 32 years old and graduated from nursing school in 1983....the same year my son (oldest child) graduated from high school.
A person has already helped me on this board tonight and I thank him/her so much for that!!
