pspX3 docking
My materials palette and layers palette won't dock on the right side...I've read the 'help' it says drag them over and they'll dock...NO THEY WON'T...they'll grab on and dock on the top but not the side. What can I do?? I think it's crazy I didn't get a users manuel with my disk!! I mean the printed one!!

Yes they will. I will admit it's a bit finicky at times but they do dock.
Just as a test, since most of the palettes just open docked to the right anyway, I grabbed my materials palette and dragged it around. And then re-docked it to the right of the screen. Also to the left, bottom, and top of the screen.
The behaviors I've observed are if you drag the palette over another open palette it tries to dock either above or beneath this open palette on the same side. If you drag it all the way to the right to start its own palette column it will dock as soon as your mouse hits the edge of the program. Not before. Once I even had to hold it there and wait for PSP to recognize that I had it at the edge.

I sure wished I could get mine to dock. When I first bought the program they were docked on the right.....they were until Thursday afternoon...I think I clicked something wrong....they popped out and they will not dock to the right.....I've tried what you said....I even brought up the other palettes...none of those will dock anywhere! Trying to hover the materials and layers...even when they aren't touching the top....it's liked they're sucked up there. I'm in a psp group and 3 of us are having the same problem. I even went to programs to take pspX3 off my computer...I've tried 3 times and it freezes up my computer....I can't even get it off!!!! I'm so frustrated!

You're never going to believe this....I did that....at first the materials palette and layer palette 'blink' into place at the right....then they disappear....when I go to view>palettes materials and layers is checked but they are gone!!! What now?? Now I get even find them.
Thanks for trying to help; I really appreciate it....I'm really in trouble now....they're just gone...plus I lost all of my customization which would be easy enough to fix but now I don't have a materials or layers palettes at all.

Glad to hear it. Now go to File -> Workspace -> Save.
If you ever have this problem again saving your current workspace should, hopefully, keep you from having to remake your entire workspace every time you get this problem. Of course hopefully it was a one-time fluke.
But if it does all you will have to do is go to File -> Workspace -> Load to get your workspace back the way you like it.
