I have VideoStudio Pro X2 version 12.0.98.0, boxed, and no service packs have been added.
I am unable to add a second line of text to my (NTSC) DVD Main Menu - here is what I do:
Open an existing VSP that I previously created. The VSP contains 42 AVIs downloaded from a camcorder and runs for 25 minutes.
Click Share / Create Disc / DVD
Verify that the 'Create menu' box is checked
Click Next
I'm on the Gallery tab so I click on 'Edit' to open the Edit tab
On the Main Menu I have a title called 'My Title', whose text and font I can change with no problem.
However, I want to add another text line to create a subtitle, and can't find a way to do this. I tried copy-pasting the existing title but that didn't work.
I know I can use 'new lines' to create the appearance of multiple lines, but I want my text on another part of the screen, so I really need to create a separate line of text.
I also think I could import a JPG with the desired text, but I'm hoping there's a simpler way to create the subtitle.
Is it possible to do this?
Thanks in advance,
Val
How do I create a sub-title on the DVD Main Menu?

Welcome to the forums,
Unfortunately this is not possible in the burn module of VS. You would need a more sophisticated DVD authoring program or PhotoImpact to be able to add text to your menu. Click on the link above (PhotoImpact), and it will take you to the PhotoImpact page of Corel's store. You are still able to purchase it, and now for a mere $29.99 (US).
The magic file type is UFO, which is Ulead/Corel proprietary working file format for PhotoImpact. The DVD menus used in VS and DVD MovieFactory use the UFO files. With PhotoImpact you can really customize the DVD menus, or build your own from scratch. I highly recommend picking it up while you can. It will vanish from the market soon.
Note, we have been literally harping at Corel to add the UFO file format to Paintshop Photo Pro, since they are dropping PhotoImpact. So far no response, and it still is not included in the latest version.

Do you mean sub titles that you can turn on/off with your DVD remote control? If so please view:ValKyrie wrote:I have VideoStudio Pro X2 version 12.0.98.0, boxed, and no service packs have been added............

........
Create Subtitles with VS11+ for use in MF6+ (Video)
There are also third party programs available to create sub titles
DivXLand Media Subtitler
and
Subtitle Workshop

I use a method which produces the effect which I think is what you want ValKyrie, Providing you are NOT using a 'Text Only' template after you click 'Next' in the burning module then either under the 'Gallery' tab or under the 'Edit, tab the preview window will be showing a thumbnail displaying the video and two 'titles' - the first of these is the 'My Title' which as you say can easily be changed to whatever you want for the title of your DVD, the second title showing is the name of your video project, but this can also be edited/rotated and moved anywhere within the preview screen it does not need to be near the thumbnail. simply select it - RIGHT click over it - then choose 'edit' from the pop up.
If a DVD only has one video on it I see no point in having 'My Title' and the project title displaying either exactly the same name or a similar name so I often either 'hide' the project title or change it completely to provide an additional title line, or when doing videos for my local school I change it to say 'copyright xxxxx school 2010' in smaller print across the bottom
