Post by Alnish »

I am using Corel VideoStudio Pro X2. Flash files (.swf) are not opening now as it shows the following error :
'Mismatch file format'.

I have installed flash player 10 active x, but its still not working.

Also, when i batch convert my VSP files into Flash file (.flv format) it stop responding and eventually close.

Welcome to the forums,

First I've edited your post, removing the BBcode tags for bold. We do not want entire posts done in bold. It is meant to highlight specific words or phrases, please confine usage to that.

It has been a problem when Adobe updates it's web flash player, it causes the one in VS to break. There's couple of solutions, one is to locate and re-install the Flashplayer utility for VS. This is found in the Utilities folder of the setup files or disc.

There's also a file called flash.ocx that is suppose to correct this. There's a link found in the following post by Steve..

Also, when i batch convert my VSP files into Flash file (.flv format) it stop responding and eventually close.
Well what is in your VSP files? VSP is a VideoStudio Project file, that is like a text file, having a bunch of instructions, like what source video, image, audio files are being used, where they are located on your computer, and what editing you want done to them. Could you provide us with more information? A guide as to what info we need can be found in the following thread:

Thank you both of you guys and special thanks to Ron. I have sorted out my problem by adding flash.ocx file in system files. My .swf files are working fine in VS now. :)

My VSP files which I want to convert it into Flash files (*.flv) contains the following items :

1. Flash file (*.swf)
2. One Video File in .wmv format
3. Two Audio Files in .wav format
4. Few Jpeg Images
5. Transitions.

Hi Alnish
I'm not sure why you are trying to batch convert vsp files. If you are trying to save a single vsp to flv format, then go to Share > Create video file. I don't think you can batch convert vsp files because as Ron says they are basically text files not video files.

Dear John,

Thanks for the reply. The only reason that I batch convert my VSP files is this, that I can convert multiple VSP files into any format. For your insntance I have tried to make video in your way also but it doesn't make any difference to me and VS stops responding

Yes John you can batch convert VSP files, and it works very well especially if you have multiple VSP files to convert.
Which I suppose that¡¦s what batch convert is for.
But it does support VSP's

I stand corrected Trevor, thanks. I just couldn't imagine having more than one project at a time that you wanted to convert. I'm verrrrrry verrrrry slow you see.

Hi Alnish

As far as I know you cannot add a flash file to video studio timeline.

You can convert a normal video file to flash using video studio but you cannot edit a flash file in video studio.

So if you have managed to add a SWF file then that may be the problem.

Can someone confirm that you cannot edit Flash files using Video Studio

Hi Trevor
You can edit the supplied flash files (.swf) in VSx3. You can't import .flv files.

Hi Apologies and thanks John

I have been able to add and play Swf files

I am unable to add Flv files Video Studio giving a warning, ¡¥Streaming video cannot be added to the timeline¡¦.

Although I have used Batch Convert successfully to convert a VSP containing the swf file.

Alnish, maybe these questions should have been asked and answered by now¡K¡K¡K¡K.

1 / Is it one particular VSP that fails or do all VSP¡¦s fail?
Are you able to convert to another format Mpeg2, Dv-Avi etc¡K.. or do these converts also fail?

2 / Have you tried creating the file from the timeline, is this successful, although I cannot see why it would be different to batch convert.
If timeline convert fails at what point does it fail?

3 / WMV Files.. are you using the latest version of Windows Media Player and have you installed the Windows Media Encoder?

4 / Jpeg images are these using Baseline encoding or Progressive, I had problems with Progressive Jpegs.
Right click an image in the timeline and select properties-Jpeg tab¡K¡K¡K¡K

5 / We know little about your setup and operating system, please update your profile to include your PC details.
What operating system do you have XP, Vista, W7¡K?????

6 / Have you applied all patches provided by Corel for X2?

7 / Have you manually updated Direct X from the link at the top of this forum.

Hi Trevor,

Before answering your ques. I want to clear that before formatting my laptop everything in VS was working fine but when I reinstall VS after reinstalling Windows Vista I faced those issues. I have successfully created .flv files through batch conversion in 640*480 resolution before formatting.

Your answers :
1. My all vsp's file fails and yes I am to able to convert in other formats like avi or mpeg
2. No its not successful as I click on convert button it stops responding.
3. I am using the default version of media player of Windows Vista 32 bit
4. I am not clear what are you trying to say.
5. I am using Windows Vista Home premium 32 bit and Pro X2 VS version.
6. Yes I have applied all patches
7. Yes I have updated Direct X also.
