I am trying to render a film just over 2 minutes in length using X3 pro, containing AVCHD footage and photos (and crossfade transitions). I have found the best way to render AVCHD with a smooth result has been to use the 'mpeg optimizer' option. This is the first time however I have tried to put photos in too, so it may be the issue. Basically it gets to about 27% then I get the notice -
The program has encountered an unspecified error and has stopped functioning.

For another little test I rendered a shorter version with no photos using the AVCHD 1920-1080 option. It seemed to render just fine, until I tried to play it back and it crashed with the message -

I tried playing this file outside of X3 on windows media player, and although it did play all the way through, the footage was a little gerky and with the odd little black patch appearing here and there for a fraction of a second.
I am running windows 7 on a new Vaio laptop with 4GB RAM and a 2.2ghz duo core intel. So everything I am using is brand new - even my Panasonic HDC-HS300 HD camcorder the footage is coming from.
Should I email these to codes as suggested to Corel to be "analysed"?
Dumped file and crashes? with codes?

I have downloaded and installed the Direct X item, and it has at least stopped the crashing, thanks. I am trying to keep up to speed on all these things, and it was something I missed. However the footage still appears to be having trouble rendering smoothly.
On the 60i question, I have been looking at my camera and manual. I appear to have 2 options to film in - auto which is I am not sure what tha rate is (it looks like 50i according to the manual). Then there is cinema mode which the camera tells me will be recording at 25fps. The manual tells me the latter will nt yeald smooth results, but gives a better picture - is this the mode X3 pro likes?
I will do some more rendering experimenting and see how it goes.
