Nero Vision dislikes Videostudio Pro X3 videofiles
I downloaded the trial of Studio X3 and the forum posts were right, the transition blips seems to be gone from X2.
But, I want to use Nero Vision for blu-ray disc authoring but it really pukes over the exported files from X3. I tried using the "mpeg optimizer" and several other options but Nero Vision (the version that comes with Nero Reloaded) still refuses to handle it and says "smart encoding 0%" which is not what I want.
Hints anyone?

Well after spending 90 minutes downloading and installing the trial version of Nero whatever I try do so far a video production is concerned just generates a message to the effect that what I am trying to do needs an extra component that can only be downloaded if I purchase the program in full so although it calls itself a trial version you can't try it. Pretty useless I think. But then I have never rated Nero very highly over the years I have been computing.
The only thing I can suggest is trying to import your file into the authoring part of VS x2. The preferred option on this Forum whilst we await the arrival of the Corel "solution" is to edit in X3 and author in X2.
Can you upload your file to a server so that I can try it in one my other video editors. This will at least establish whether the problem is with your file or Nero. I'm plumping for Nero myself.

I'm gonna test X3 *really* careful this time. I bought X2 very quickly and used it for five minutes (=Until I noticed the transition blip-issue that still hasn't been fixed?).
However, now I can't recreate the problem. Now it suddenly works, strange but good I guess.
Perhaps not related to this topic, but how do you specify target bitrate? I have some AVCHD compliant clips but I want transitions and stuff to be encoded as blu-ray compliant (=higher bitrate). Even if I output as bluray-compliant it always chooses the original AVCHD bitrate instead.
EDIT: About Nero Vision, I think it's a very good tool for quickly generating a BD/AVCHD-disc. It's smart-rendering is very good and very quick.

I have just experimented myself, using AVCHD video with almost identical properties to yours and Nero 9 Reloaded. The video originally came from a Panasonic SD9 AVCHD camcorder, and if there is a difference, it may be that my video uses Dolby 5.1 audio, whereas yours may only be dual channel stereo.
In any case, I used two separate clips from the same camera which had already been processed through X3 and output using the same properties as the original.
I opened Nero > Nero Vision, and chose Blu-Ray output. Even though I own a fully registered copy of Nero Reloaded, like mitchell above, I also then got the message that to burn a Blu-Ray disc or folder, I needed to buy a "Blu-ray Disc Authoring Plug-in". While this is only around $9.99, since I don't have a Blu-Ray burner as yet, I am not prepared to buy something I will not use for quite some time just for the sake of this experiment. Moreover, in any case, VS X2 and even the awful authoring module in X3 allows the burning of Blu-Ray discs and folders without having to buy an extra plug-in.
That being said, I decided to try the Nero Vision AVCHD output option, and chose Hard Disk Folder as the output. This would give me a BDMV folder which is analogous to the BDMV folder on a Blu-Ray disc (AVCHD of course being totally a Blu-Ray-compatible format). Hurdle number 2: on choosing the first of my test files, I got a pop-up saying that since this involved a third-party patent, it needed activation. I selected OK. But I still could not get Nero Vision to recognise the video. I closed the program down, and on restarting it, it had no trouble in importing my AVCHD files. And I proceeded through the menu stage and to 'burn' a hard disk BDMV folder. I could play that folder perfectly using both Nero ShowTime and Corel WinDVD 9 with Blu-Ray.
This process took 6 minutes 15 seconds for a 90 second project -- which I have found to be average for an AVCHD project, even in VS when burning an AVCHD hybrid disc with a menu. Two asides: I noted that Nero used its own version of SmartRender in processing the two video files. And on opening Task Manager, I noted that two of the cores of my Quad 6600 were almost totally taken up in processing the project; while the other two were about half occupied.
So I suppose the bottom line is to ask you whether you have bought the Nero Blu-Ray Burner plug-in; or alternatively whether you activated the third party patent apparently required by Nero Vision to process AVCHD.

It defaults back to the AVCHD properties because, as I noted above, AVCHD *is* Blu-Ray compliant. If you choose different properties e.g. a higher bitrate, that affects the whole project, not just the transitions, and neither VS nor Nero Vision will then be able to use SmartRenderEven if I output as bluray-compliant it always chooses the original AVCHD bitrate instead.
