X3 crashes when I load a X2 Project file

Post by jharrer »

I'm using Pro X3 on a Dell Desktop running Windows XP. When I try to load an X2 project file the system crashes with a message to contact Technical Support and supply the dump file. It seems X3 puts the dump file in a place I cannot find because when I do a search for a *.DMP file nothing comes up. The path is abbreviated in the error message and I cannot cut and paste. Anyway, looking in the Corel "Getting Started Guide", their instructions to finding Technical Support are incomprehensible (can you tell I'm frustrated).

Any suggestions would be appreciated. At least I still have X2.

Thanks,

John

My suggestion would be to finish your X2 project in X2, and start a new one in X3.

I was afraid you were going to say that

There are many edited clips and I wanted to see how x3 handled them.

Thanks JP3d and Black Lab.

I understand, and if you continue to have problems with X3 when starting a project from scratch please let us know, as there would be an underlying problem somewhere.
