VSX3: Are the X2 avchd rendering crashes fixed?

Post by Aeropars »

Hi,

My problems were well documented on this forum about a 45 minute video which contains AVCHD clips, text, music and photo's as well as the normal overlays and transitions. When rendering this woudl crash at about 98% every time at the point of a transition.

My system spec is as follows:

3ghz intel Q6600
4gb Ram
windows 7 x64
Nvidia GT 8800 GPU

Has this problem been ficed in the new version.?

I'll happily download a trial but need to know if the x2 project will open on x3?

Regards

Lee

Yes, an X2 project will open in X3.

Hi Lee

You may be best to make a copy of the actual VSP files that you intend to use in X3.
When the trial runs out and you try to open X3 projects in X2, lets hope you have remembered to save them as X2 compatible. The option is available in the Save window

Make a copy just in case.

Well, i've tested this and the quality of the output video is apauling compared to VS12 and powerdirector.

For some strange reason the video is very stuttery on playback which is actually media player struggling to cope. Very odd though as any other video clips which other versions and different software produce play fine.

That in itself is interesting. I have a computer not dissimilar to yours, and have no trouble with AVCHD output and playback in WMP, WiinDVD 9, PowerDVD 9 and most recently ArcSoft TrueMedia Theater.

But as I have said a number of times in other threads and will repeat here, I never use SmartRender with any high definition project, whether it be AVCHD or HDV. I maintain the original video properties throughout my projects, so cannot notice any visible degradation in quality after one or even two renderings.
