VS X3 how to create an NTSC file in PAL region ?

Post by jusko »

Hi :D , I am a newbie in VS. I installed VS X3 with PAL region. Sometimes, I have some NTSC video files to be edited and wanted to create a video file in NTSC, I found that all the output options are in PAL. Although I can make custom preset, it is quite tedious making all the settings.

Is there a way that I can turn all the output settings to NTSC even I installed VS with PAL region or vice versa ?

Best Regards
:)

The program will default to the setting you stipulated when you first installed the program, there is no way to alter that without uninstalling / reinstalling.
Have you gone to the preferences screen and enabled the option to "Show a message when inserting video clip into timeline"
What this will do is spot if the clip is different to the project settings
e.g. inserting a NTSC video into a PAL project and then prompt you to let it alter the project settings to match.

Not at home right now but here is a screen shot from an earlier version of VideoStudio

Thanks Steve, I enabled the option to "Show a message ...." as per your advice.
Thank you very much. :D

With previous versions of VS prior to X3, there was also an option in the first icon in the bottom left of the Burning screen to swap between PAL and NTSC. But alas, with the new "streamlined" burning module of X3, that seems to have disappeared along with a number of other useful things...

Yes, Ken, I expected when I set the project properties to NTSC, the output presets should be changed to NTSC as well. Even I live in PAL region, I would also edit NTSC video and not limited to PAL. :(

Hi

Using the Make Movie Manager will allow you to create your own templates.
Using the Add function will create one using your video files properties.

The template should show in Share-Create Video file list.

Burning
Before you finally Share Create Disc, make sure your project properties match your video files of NTSC, the burner module will then use these settings.

Thank you Trevor, the "Add" function is indeed very useful in my case. :)
