Warm Greetings

Post by Lobo21 »

I'm 59 and getting older by the minute. I work in the nuclear field repairing, renovating, and installing piping systems during re-fueling outages. So will be absent for extended periods from time to time. Gotta make a living, don't you know. :?

Started with a Panasonic C-Vhs in '90 now have a Sony Hi-def HDR-UX5, (yes still learning on that one also). I think I'm ready to take the plunge into recording in Hi Def. Time well tell. :D

Just starting in video editing and quite frankly am lost. But I'm learning. Got started with a trial edition that came with the Sony BluRay burner.

I have a combo DVD recorder/Vhs in-one set top. I transfer the Vhs to DVD which takes care of the analog-to-digital part of the process.

I've been transfering the media to my computer as a folder for editing, that works most of the time ( I guess I'm lucky from what I've seen on this and other Forums) So far 8 "coasters" with 45 finished "Home Movie" style DVD's.

Don't feel that I can add anything to the great answers of the moderators and administrators, at this time. As I get more familiar with the whole editting thing I hope to share whatever I can. But for now I'm still reading and learning.

I just discovered the advantage of the "capture" feature as opposed to opening the folders. Still working trial and error on that one. :x

All-in-all I'm glad to be aboard, and looking forward to being a part of the community. :P
