Paint Shop Pro X2 Won't Reinstall from Download Email

Post by tenle »

I had purchased PSP X2 last year and received the download email. It downloaded fine the first time when I was using Vista. But my computer recently crashed and my hard drive had to be rebuiilt, so I took the opportunity to upgrade to Windows 7. I went back to try and reinstall PSP X2 from the original email I had received and it comes up with an error. Why is this happening and how can I get it downloaded? Is it because the new version is out now (X3)? I would think X2 should still be able to be downloaded since I *purchased* it.

If you didn't buy the extra 2 years of download insurance, then your time to download the installation file might have expired. The download link in a confirmation email will usually have a time limit.
When you buy any downloadable software you really need to make a copy of the installation file. The copy needs to be archived on something other than the hard drive in your computer so that it is accessible if your computer breaks, is stolen or burns to the ground.
You should be able to apply your serial number to a copy of the trial version which will be converted to a full version in the process. You can download the trial version from http://www.filehippo.com/download_paint_shop_pro/. The main version shown on that page is for PSPP X2 Ultimate Edition (12.50). There is a link to the earlier 12.00 version of X2 in the column to the right. Your serial number will only work with the version you purchased.

thanks so much for your response! i did purchase the download insurance and the more i looked at the error, the more it looked like a browser error to me. so i logged onto google chrome and tried to download from there and it worked! i should have thought of that. not sure why internet explorer wouldn't let me download it, but i'm glad i got it to work.

thanks for your time!

I had some browser problems as well. When I tried to buy PSPX3 with Firefox nothing happened (it was in the cart, I hit purchase and..... nothing, went back to the first page telling me what a great product X3 was.) When I switched to IE, worked fine.

While you still have these download files, NOW is the time to follow the advice in this thread...
Lost Serial Numbers and Software. a further benefit of following this advice is that you do not need 2 years download insurance.
