Ken, I assume you want to put a PTube on a new layer on your working canvas. Just create a new layer, then the "I" keyboard shortcut for the PTubes tool and place the tube images(s) at any place on the canvas.

If you want to create a new PTube, the Help file has a good explanation of how to do this. If you want to create a new tube and don't understand the process after checking the Help file, reply here and I or one of the great experts here will provide additional details, I'm sure.

layers +tubes

Thanks for that Bob,
The reason I posted this question is because it was not answered in http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?p=193797#193797 along with the question about why the tube icon does not always show.As you have probably realised you are dealing with a PSPro X novice here so you cant assume prior knowledge of very much.So when you say" just create a new layer" that was want I was wanting to know how to do..............................Ken

On the menu bar at the top, select Layers>New Raster Layer. Then you'll have a layer for pasting the Picture Tube.

It's a good idea to have the Layers Palette open on the right side of the screen. That way you can see the layers you have created and which one is active. The Palettes button is just to the left of the Organizer and Express Lab buttons in the PSPX3 Editor.

You should experiment with multiple layers, trying different Blend Modes and Opacity settings. Layers is one of the features that makes PSPX3 very powerful.

There's an introduction to Layers in the Learning Center. Turn that on and off with F10. In addition, the online Help file contains additional information about using Layers.
