no capture device

Post by surfer »

Shortly i have Videostudio X3. With my old panasonic minidv camcorder the nv-gs120 there is no capture device in Videostudio x3.
When i hook up my panasonic Windows ask me what do i want to do with it. I tell him that i want to use it with Videostudio to capture, but in VIdeostudio in the capture task there is no device to capture...

How can i solve this?

Using WIndows Xp Pro. Videostudio X2 always worked. But now i have repartitioned the harddrive and the drive where Videostudio 2 saved the projects and files isn't there anymore so now Videostudio x2 gives an error when starting thatswy i installed x3 and can not go back to x2..

You haven't told us HOW you are hooking up your camcorder to the computer. You SHOULD be using an IEEE1394 firewire cable and NOT the USB cable that came with the camcorder.

You can check to see if your camcorder and firewire cable are both working by using Windows Movie Maker.

I am using a firewire cable, have always done that. But for some reason i cannot install moviemaker anymore, that is can not start it anymore, get the error: unknown error.

Two related video problems may mean you have a deeper problem with your pc or windows installation.

Check this for solving the mm problem.

You could try yet another programme, windv is very good, free, very small and easy to use.
