I too have this issue with Windows 7 (64bit). I also had the same issue with Adobe Acrobat and it's icons. I don't recall the fix but it was for Win7-64bit only.

I also could not see the tube thumbs in Win7explorer.
Downloaded the BOT Handler, restarted, went to PSPP,-X3,-PSP Classic,- CoreL_10
and changed the view to 'content' in each of the individual folders that have the tubes and am now showing the thumbs.
Got the message that Windows needed to know what program to open the files,
chose X3 and I get a preview of any of the tubes.keeping the program open allows you to browse though them all.
