VS12 X2 HD Video Output Jerky Stuttering Duplicated Frames

Post by simmosimmo »

Hi ,

This is a follow up post from one I did back in 2008;

http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php ... highlight=

Well my problem is back again! I think it was just luck that I managed to get it to work back in 2008.

I've recently got a more powerful PC so the editing of HD video is much smoother and I can now preview the results, which is great. However I still get duplicated frames (always after a transition) when converting my project to a to a HD MPG2which is really frustrating.

I gave up for a long time, waited for the new PC to arrive....bought VS pro X2...installed the latest patches (my version reports it as 12.0.96.1 Ultimate)...and now I'm almost back to square one.

Funny enough the source HD video looks ok...no duplicate frames...so how does the render process know that the source video has a transition? Very weird!! If I cut out the source video portion where the problem is expected to occur and reinsert a new transition it tends to cure the problem.

Anyone got any new ideas?

Cheers..

P.S I saw that X3 was out already and downloaded the trial, but that hasn't fixed my issues either and I see new problems like degraded video halfway through a new render!

Hi

Not sure if this is the same problem, what I saw was a frame playing out of order.
Like frames 18, 19, 20, 21 in order
Would play like 18, 20, 19, 21. This caused a blip. Always at the end of a transition.

Please read this post regarding H264VDec.dll

http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?t=36884

There were two versions of this dll, the fix was to overwrite the dll¡¦s using the latest version.
Using X2 I could create the fault to order by swapping the dll¡¦s, until I installed X3, then it was ok.

The release of X3 and subsequent install seems to have also cured the problem.

Saying that other users are having similar problems since X3 release.

Hope this helps

Thanks Trevor for the reply.

The post you mention does sound like the same effect I'm seeing, although my problem is from HD video (from a DV camera - Sony HC5) and not AVCHD.

I thought H264 was just related to AVCHD??

I checked the DLL versions though and they look to be newer than what the problem one was reported to be. I guess they have been updated by the X3 trial.

I'll do some more testing...with another similiar video I have and will report back.

Cheers....
