Using VideoStudio X3
Hi - I have a hard disk dedicated to all the AVCHD video, seperated into folders.
I have another folder on another drive to hold the proxy files. I added all my AVCHD files to the proxy manager and converted everything to proxy as my current project uses bits of video from loads of different files.
Everything was fine yesterday, but today, it seems that Videostudio has lost all links to the proxy files, the little icon is missing from the clips. All the proxy files are still there.
Anyway of re-linking the proxy files? Or do i have to start over?
Smart Proxy link lost

Hi
1 / With Smart Proxy enabled, adding a video file to the timeline will automatically create the proxy file.
2 / You can manually create the proxy file by right clicking a clip. use Shift + Click to select mutiple clips.
3 / you mention about different drives, i know this sounds daft, but are you using an external drive, and is it turned on......have you re-named the drive-folders etc
check the location of the proxy files from Settings Preferences

Thanks for the reply.
The proxy files are all on internal SATA disks. I've recreated the proxy files over night, bit of a pain, but ho hum.
I was hoping there would be some type of database file hidden somewhere that I could add to a backup set, but I cant find one anywhere.
I have noticed that if I set a batch of files to be proxy'd and VS crashes, it does lose any of that current batch. It seems to write the locations once VS has been closed correctly.

Hi
Your comments on VS crashing is a little concerning. Maybe this is your main problem and should be addressed.
But yes ¡K¡K.. if you have set any preferences, proxy files, manager files, in fact any changes to shall we say user defined settings, and VS crashes you will loose those settings.
If you close VS normally then your settings will be intact, at least that¡¦s how I have noticed it in the past.
A cash would/may loose the location of the proxy files, assuming you have re-allocated these from the default.
Check the location of the proxy files from the System tab, just in case its changed.
Update your profile to include your pc speck, we can then view under the system tab on the forum.
