Post by des_cho »

Is there any way i can know the size (cm) of a selected area of a jpeg without have to crop out that part into a new jpeg?

I don't know how to explaint clearly so here is the image for example:

Image

I have selected 'rock the world 9' area and want to know the size (preferably in cm) without have to crtl+c and crtl+alt+v to a new image and then alt + enter to see the size. Is there any way I can just right click or hover my mouse to the area and get the size easily?

I dont like to crlt+c then crtl v for an image everytime because it will exhaust my computer memory and i have to restart photoimpact again.

Hope somebody can help.Thanks!

The only way that I'm aware of in PI, is to have the Ruler showing, and also to watch the lower left, while dragging out your selection. It will display the dimensions of your selection, until you release your mouse. The following screenshot is from PI X3, but should be the same in PI12.

Thanks Ron,
I'm aware of that but still not in cm or inches. Thanks anyway! :)

Too bad they did not use an Info Palette similar to PS Elements, where you can easily see the dimensions, but can choose what unit of measurement..
