Out of Memory problem with PI 12

Post by Sandgroper »

I have used PI happily for years, from Image Pals days, with OSes through XP to Vista and never had any trouble with printing. Currently using PI 12 with patch. Lately (once with XP and once with Vista) I have got the message "Out of Memory" as soon as I pressed the Print button. This is not a useful message as I have 3GB Ram on the Vista machine and the problem disappeared after re-installation .. but this is a clumsy way to solve the problem! Does anyone know why this would be so .. and how to resolve without reinstalling?

How many images did you have open at once?
How big were they?

What you could do when opening several images is to use the good old
3 fingered salute (Ctrl-Alt-Del) to bring up Windows Task Manager to check how much RAM is being used up. Then if necessary shut a few things down.

I don't think that was/is the problem. It happens when I have a single image open (3-4MB), whereas I can have 4 open at once with Photo Explorer. Also the problem disappears if I reinstall PI.
