audio noise with wmv

Whenever I make a wmv video with music overlay I get clicking and popping sounds in the background. All the source clips in the video are muted and the music overlay is from an mp3 file. I'm using video studio 7 with no updates. I'm also using the default wmv options. You can here the noise clearly a few seconds into this clip

Does anyone know how I can get rid of this noise? Is it a problem with video studeo 7 or with the wmv codec or something else?

Someone else had problems with MP3 files before that disappeared by converting the MP3 audio to WAV format before adding it to the project. I'd give that a shot.

It worked. I inserted the music as wav and there was none of the noise in the wmv video. Thanks.
Do Ulead know about this bug with mp3 files?
