NewBlueFx Stabilzer filter
I just got e-mail announcing a hot new filter from NewBlueFx that analyzes a hand-held video and remove the small or large shaking that always results when panning. This filter sounds terrific but not cheap at $99. Before plunging on this great tool I would like to know other's opinions and experience with this filter which works with our program... Al

I suspect you could be our guinea pig!!
Seriously, their filters are expensive but good. However, experience in the past with third party anti-shake filters has been mostly negative. After all, think of the incredibly calculations which would need to go into removing bad shake. Moderate to little shake, well, maybe OK. But I suspect anyone with a shaky hand should not expect miracles and buy a cheap floating head tripod instead. I have quite a steady hand, as it turns out, but inevitably get shakes which make it clear to any viewer that this is home-made video. I bought a US$79 Velbon floating head tripod and now I am making real, honest to got travel documentaries! Smooth smooth smooth!! And I have Black Lab to thank for the recommendation of the tripod....
