Post by extremekicks »

I just upgraded my OS to Win 7 trying to load VS 11+ download and my keycode isnt working, which isnt allowing me to then load Pro x3.

Any words of advice? Contact Corel?

Which I hear is just about worthless.

Ugh

I don't think a previous version needs to be installed, you just need the serial number (?).

Corel FAQ; Installing VS 11 wrote: Downloading & Installation VideoStudio 11:

Step 1:

Click on the download links from your order confirmation email. This email will have 2 download links (Plus version has 3 download links). Please download all necessary files. When prompted, choose to save each file to your computer. Please make note the name of the folder where the files are being saved. This will begin the download process. You must install the program file first, prior to installing the additional content file(s). After installing the program files, you can install bonus file that was downloaded (if applicable).

Step 2:

When the download is complete, choose to Run the file if prompted. If not prompted, go to the folder where you saved the files, and double-click on the icon that is created. This will begin the installation process.

Step 3:

Follow the prompts to install the program.

Step 4:

After installing program file, you can start to install content file(s).

Step 5:

If you want to install the bonus file content, you should un-zip to your computer. Please note the name of the folder where the files are being saved. After un-zip, choose to Run the Autorun.exe, then you can install bonus program.

Note:

* For the upgrade version user: after entering the serial number, the program will request you to enter the previous version's serial number again.
* For the TBYB version user: after you purchase from website. You will receive an Email which will provide the serial number/activation code and download links necessary to unlock the trial.

No it should not remove or have any affect on VS11+. On my XP machine I have every version from 8 to X3 installed.

Personally, I have always deleted the OLD folder after installation (I had a licence to upgrade 3 computers to Win 7). I had already copied all document, image etc and data files before installing Win 7, and knew I should install all the other programs from scratch. I therefore did not know that something like VS11 would work from the OLD folder, though imagine that somehow it works via Win 7 and could thus be interfering with your new installation of VS11+...

That being said, there is no reason why concurrent versions from about VS10 onwards cannot co-exist on the same Win 7 computer... I at least have VS11.5+, X2 and X3 on the same computer with no problems...
