3 Questions: X2 and X3 at same time? Embedded folder? Menu?

Post by bart »

Hello,

Is it possible to install VS X2 and X3 on the same computer and have them work properly?

I ask this because after upgrading to X3, I discovered I cannot go with a "no menu" option for DVDs I create. If anyone has a status update on that, I would LOVE to hear it. I read somewhere in this forum about a possible update to come out?

FINAL Question: X2 allowed me to insert a folder of files into DVDs I created...very handy since I am a soccer dad and I created a variety of vids for the parents, and I was using X2 to add the full-resolution pictures I took so that they could print them as they pleased. CAN I do this with X3? If not, is that a feature they will push in a patch or anything?

These two items are pretty substantial for me...and they lead to the first question, as to whether I can install X2 and X3, solely so I can save as a file, then create the DVD in X2 with embedded files and no menu.

Thanks for your help (and patience)!

Yes, X2 and X3 can be installed on the same computer, but only one at a time can be running.

With the current burn module in X3 you cannot make a disc with no menu. Corel has heard our complaints and is working on a solution.

As for the ability to burn a folder to the disc, I guess that will depend on what Corel offers us with the burn module upgrade/replacement/etc.

So yes, per your final statement, you can edit with X3, then create a video file that you can insert into the burning module of X2 to create your disc.

Black Lab,

Thanks for the quick reply.

I will install X2 again and just route it that way. It isn't the perfect answer for me, but it is way better than me spending more cash if I have a viable solution.
