Will corel drop Video studio also?
I have had vs seems like forever, and recently I find that they are dropping ulead photoimpact (apparaently). I received and eamil about the upgrad to x3. I am wondering if it will be worth it, only to find Corel, drops that too. I just emailed them about a slight problem with PIX#, and I got an email about compatibility with wind 7.

None of us work for Corel, so ultimately, none of us know what their plans might be.
However, I rather doubt that VS will be dropped. They have of course dropped a variety of other programs, but they seem to have decided to retain certain key ones from other companies they bought out since they are deemed to be cash cows and profitable. I think VS remains in that category -- although if they shoot themselves in the foot again like they have by stipping the old burning module from VS and replacing it with DVD Factory 2010 as they have, then sales figures for VS might plummet and it could go the way of PI, DVD Workshop and Movie Factory Pro to name just a few...

At the moment I think that it is very unlikely, unlike some of the other products that Corel owned prior to the acquisition they did not have a video editing / authoring program. MediaStudio, DVD Workshop, MovieFactory and VideoStudio all fulfilled a similar task of editing/producing videos and so it would seem that Corel chose to keep the product that makes the most profit. Will Corel drop Video studio also?
They did of course already have image editing software, Paint Shop Pro and Corel Draw and so it is understandable that PhotoImpact would get a rough time. I have asked Corel to look into the feasibility of including the UFO format into Paint Shop Pro.
