MovieFactory 2010 - How to archive 6 VCDs on one DVD?

Post by earnolmartin »

Since I was receiving unspecified error messages from Ulead MovieFactory 6, I also bought VideoStudio X3 since it contained MovieFactory 2010. Needless to say, I hate the organizer in MovieFactory 2010. I prefer to point where I want to import the files from. The media toolbar doesn't work at the bottom...

Any way, is there a way to archive 6 VCDs on one DVD like there is in MovieFactory 6? If so, how do you do this? Also, can you edit the menus like you can in MovieFactory 6? How do you do this in 2010?

Let me know.

I like MovieFactory 6 better... just wish I could get it to work.

So this isn't possible, right?

Is it just me, or does DVD MovieFactory 2010 suck and have a hint of mislead?

First there is no DVD Movie Factory 2010, the correct name for the program is DVD Factory Pro 2010. As you can see there is really no resemblance to Movie Factory. As far as I've been able to find, it does not have the 6 VCD--->1 DVD template option. You could probably do it, using the Import-->Other Devices command. Then point it to the drive where you have your VCD.

Archive 6 VCD to 1 DVD is a quality setting not an actual function.
It is just a matter of setting the bit rates so that the contents of 6 CD discs (650-700 MB) can fit onto one DVD disc (4.3 GB).

The new DVD Factory Pro 2010 is in some respects good with a few fancy menus - I particularly like the one with thumbnails hanging on a washing line and swinging in the wind. Other than that everything else about it seems to be a giant leap backwards with much less control, such as you have discovered - you cannot set your own bit rates. (Or if you can I haven't found them yet!)
