I used Corel products before and love them so I came back to try the VideoStupio. I got the trial version cause I wanted to make sure the program was going to work first. I ran into a problem and was told to come here for assistance because of it being the trial version.
I tried a few days to search the board and online to see if I could find any info and maybe I over looked something mayne I didn't. But I hope someone can help me with this.
I wanted to hook up a dual DVD/VCR (Brand new, fresh from the box) to my PC so I could salvage some older VHS tapes onto my hard drive. I got it hooked up to my PC via Svideo and L,R,V (Yellow, White, Red) ports directly to my TV tuner card.
I have my cable TV line hooked separate to my tuner card as well.
When I use VS Pro X3 to capture video. I see and hear the TV through it just perfect. That part works fine for me.
The problem I have is this...
I got a somewhat recent movie to test this. It worked find with the old VCR I had till it died. That is why I bought the new Dual DVD/VCR player.
So I know the tape works fine.
But when I go to capture video from the VCR/DVD, I only hear sound and the sound is clear and perfect. I get no visual from the tape at all.
The settings list 2 sets of the Svideo and Composite, out of those four, only one will work and that is one of the Svideo ioptions.
I got all the wires hooked to the DVD/VCR in the right ports. I just can't see any footage.
I even tried saving a 30 sec clip and using another editing tool to see if I could see the footage but came up blank.
Is there something in the program settings that I need to change or is it a problem due to the version I have? Or is it how I got the dual DVD/VCR connected?
Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

To output from svideo the player needs to be an svideo player, is it? Otherwise you'll need ot disconnect the svideo adn just use the yellow composite. I wouldn't have both connected anyway, that may be confusing matters.
Is the video a home recorded one, ie it doesn't have any copy protection on it?
You have the right settings re ntsc/pal to match the player and tape?
Is the tv connected to the same connections as the vcr or a different one? If different what if you connect to the same ones?
